Every  business can be a green business regardless of its stature or whether you run a large company or you own a small outlet such as a shop you have a significant role to play in ensuring that  our environment is kept safe. Everyone has to be responsible for what he does to our environment to  ensure  we are achieving the primary sustainable  goals. Part of achieving the  sustainable development goals involves achieving a sound healthy environment  and this can be achieved by keeping the earth green.
Naturally it is assumed that the environment is green in nature because most of the plant species come in green. we all love to see a large green landscape over a large expanse of field. Every passing day we are losing these lovely green landscapes to agriculture, industries , housing etc which are all human activities. These human actions are causing changes to the earth systems which in return are having effects on lives and properties. How do we curtail these problems ? simple we don't stop our activities  but  rather we find a means of turning them green and sustainable. Here are some tips to achieve a green business.

1. GREEN THINKING: The first step in achieving a green lifestyle is the a successful change of mindset. People act the way they think, for instance it is assumed the kind of environment one hails from tends to influence his thinking and overall behavior. It  involves inculcating behaviors among people to enable them become  better with their environmental conscience  and awareness.  This will enable them to develop friendly behaviors prompting them to act in an Eco-friendly manner. Green thinking is very very important in achieving environmental sustainability. It can start from our local houses for example planting  more trees, reduce our carbon footprint by using bicycles to commute to work or school the list goes on. If you are starting  a business the environment should be at  the fore front of your thoughts. Remember your corporate social responsibilities?

2. ENERGY EFFICIENT VEHICLES :  One of the greatest threat to environmental well-being is automobile emissions. These has great consequences to human and environmental health. The world is so developed to the extent that people cant survive without these technologies so we cant just wake up one day and say that we are going stop using automobiles and all the machines, but what we can do is to find away of developing energy efficient vehicles, one can decide to ditch cars and buses and use bicycle or trek to work  time to time using vehicles for distant travels only. Businesses often use trucks, cars and buses to deliver or move there goods and services to only far distance so here green thinking can help businesses save the planet because they have such a great impact it shouldn't be about making profit only.

3. USE ENERGY EFFICIENT POWER SOURCE: Our homes and business spaces are filled with equipped light  points. Thinking green is not limited to only planting trees or developing green spaces but also it includes running our households in a green manner by reducing the amount of energy we consume. Low energy consumption is very vital in achieving a green lifestyle. We can  decide not to use  fuel generators but rather use solar energy or wind turbines in our homes, offices and even in our farms. this will reduce the amount carbon based fuel we consume and in turn save our environment.

4.REDUCE WASTE GENERATION BY USING REUSABLE  ITEMS: Humans have a knack for generation of waste causing all sort of nuisance to the environment. We can do our part by   adopting the R3 principle.  Business produce all sort of wastes whether be it a company or a local food shop.  Women at home play important role in waste generation so they can do better by learning new ways to cut down the waste they generate by reusing and reducing waste. This is also applicable to businesses, they can find a means to manage their waste. One way to achieve that composting their kitchen waste and using them for gardening. There are other  ways  such as avoid unnecessary shopping because we know women are fond of shopping.
